VINTA is a European cooperation project focused on improving access, progression and leadership opportunities for women in brewing, distilling and winemaking.
The project combines industry-led research, practical vocational training and digital learning to support women at different stages of their careers. VINTA develops clear learning resources, leadership and business skills programmes, and tools that help employers build more inclusive workplaces.
Working with educators, industry partners and employers across Europe, VINTA turns evidence and good practice into practical action. The aim is simple: to remove barriers, support talent and help women build sustainable, long-term careers in the alcohol industry.

Across the drinks sector in Europe, women remain underrepresented in technical roles, senior positions and leadership, despite growing participation in education, training and early career stages.
EU research highlights that this is part of a wider structural challenge. The European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) shows that progress on gender equality in employment and decision-making remains slow across the EU, with women still less likely to progress into senior and technical roles in male-dominated industries. This pattern is particularly visible in sectors linked to production, manufacturing and craft skills, including food and drink.
This resource area develops practical vocational learning and teaching materials tailored to the drinks industry. These include technical learning, leadership development, business skills and career progression support, designed for women at different stages of their careers. Resources are created for both learners and educators and are aligned with vocational education and training needs. A central element is the digital learning hub, which provides flexible online access to courses, learning pathways and open educational resources.
This resource supports employers and industry stakeholders to create more inclusive workplaces. It provides practical tools to help review recruitment, progression and workplace practices across the drinks sector. The toolkit includes guidance, templates, case examples and adaptable tools that can be used by organisations of different sizes. Its aim is to support employers to recognise talent, improve retention and create clearer pathways into technical and leadership roles.
